Game 4: GA

Time to finally play what started all this: Gladiator Arena.

For this you'll need choose race and weapon (read rules for their qualities) of the following options:

dwarf: axe, sword, spear
human: axe, sword, spear, bow
elf: axe, sword, bow
halfling: axe, sword, bow, catapult
giant: axe, sword, spear, bow, catapult

(Edit: I'm playing axe halfling, Simelius sword elf, so please something else.)

(I strongly advice NOT using bow. Halfling and giant have extra complications in playing, but also advantages.)

For game start you choose the race and weapon and a square to start in. (Tactical advice: with axe/sword odds are you should start near center of board; with bow/catapult on edges/corners; with spear, somewhere between)

We will NOT use the time limit rule. (That would take effect after Turn 10.)

The scoring in GA is slightly different than WWA/NA: this is about how many players you kill, not who survives last. With only 3 players, this only makes a difference when two players die on same turn. But still, you should aim to drop a near-dead player out.

The major difference in playing GA to WWA/NA is that you have certain number of actions per turn (depending race/weapon) and you'll have to choose if you want sacrifice movement for an extra attack. Related to which, you can attack up to 4 times a turn (elf with axe/sword not moving).

Attacking happens by choosing square like in NA, but your attack area is limited by your weapon. (I'll explain once we choose our race/weapon.)

Human sword :) I will start in E6 (bear with me as I might not get here more than twice a day, working on our house).

Re: Game 4: GA

These were really meant to be played one turn per day, with only you playing it's whatever pace you post at emoticon
And GA may be the shortest of games.

You (as human) have 3 actions per turn. "Normal" characters dwarf/elf/human may only move once (U/D/L/R) per turn; giant has special limitation and halfling has ability to move twice. Rest or all actions are used for attacks.
So to put that simply, you can either take a step UDLR and attack twice OR attack three times (remaining where you are).
Simelius (elf) acts similarly except she has one more attack.
I (halfling) can take two steps (being able to move 2 squares UDLR or 1 square diagonally). I have 3 actions, so I may either attack 3 times, move once and attack twice or move twice and attack once.

With these weapons/races, I do 3 damage hitting, you 2 and she 1.

Now comes the hard part: attack range. You (and Simelius) can attack squares on 5X5 centered on the square you're moving into or remain in if not moving. So that's like 2 squares away, including chess knight move away.
I (using axe) can only hit squares next to me (the square I move into).

What you post is your move (UDLR) and attacks (squares) like D 4D 4E or 5E 5E 5E (you may attack several times on same square).

Note that you can't hit the square you're moving into (or remaining in).
If two players would move into same square, neither moves (for halfling both moves are canceled). Attacks still happen into the squares players aimed.

Turn 0

Kaunisto axe halfling D5
Simelius sword elf E4
Justbec sword human E6
