Game 9: SA

The space map:
Image

The NA attributes for the game:
A. One ship type (3-square)
B. "no turning" simple movement
C. Can ships move (and shots work) "over the edge" of board: Y
D. Can ships occupy same squares: Y
E. Amount of damage to sink a ship: 5

I will only draw boards when there's combat (ships of both of us) on planet/moon.

I'll explain things as we get going. For Turn 0 you only need to choose a planet or moon from the map to start. (We'll skip a technicality of position choice and just agree that our ships are D4-6 and E4-6 on start, as it hardly matters.)
Because the aim is to take over both red and green planets/moons, I advice to pick someplace near Jupiter...

Re: Game 9: SA

I need to figure out rules myself for starters... does Turn 0 count for gaining control? I say it does.

Turn 0:

Kaunisto:

K1 Mars D5v
K2 Mars E5v

Bec:

B1 Callisto D5v
B2 Callisto E5v

I'm naming our ships K1, K2 etc. and B1 etc.
Every turn you give orders to each ship. Ship can move either on "orbit" (the usual chess board) or from one planet/moon to another. (To simplify game, I just decided every ship enter a new orbit at D5. If we play several games eventually on "full rules", you'll see what that means)
So your next move should be like this:

1 (or B1, if you wish) Jupiter
2 Io

Tactically your big strategic choice is whether you move both ships to same place or separate. If one player holds ships together and encounters other's lone ship, they're likely to destroy it. But in beginning it's also important to get yourself lots of planets/moons to build new ships, so unless you mean to quickly hunt down one of my ships and then the other, you should send them to different places. Though now that you hold Callisto (from Turn 1 on), you could expect me to come steal it and ambush me there with two ships...
I suggest you move your ships to two planets/moons or if both to same, it should be red ("mining").
Being in Callisto you can move to Saturn, Titan, Jupiter, Io, Ganymede, Europa or Mars.
(As I'm in Mars, I can't follow you to Saturn or Titan if you want to avoid battle for now. On the other hand you should take my planets/moons - now Mars - as soon as you can...)

Re: Game 9: SA

Turn 1:

Kaunisto: Mars

K1 Jupiter
K2 Moon

CP/MP: 1/0

Bec: Callisto

B1 Jupiter
B2 Callisto

CP/MP: 1/0

Jupiter:
8emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
7emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
6emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
5emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
4emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
3emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
2emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
1emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
---A-----B-----C-----D-----E-----F-----G-----H

1/3 K1
2/3 B1

Now ships K1 and B1 meet in Jupiter and fight like usual NA. So for next turn you make for ship B1 move like "UUU D4" and with B2 choose a planet/moon to move to.

Tactically your main choice is, do you move the other ship to Jupiter to fight me 2-on-1 (probably good tactic) or do you move B2 around to take planets/moons (careful strategy, but in this situation good especially if you can soon block me in Mars so I'll only hold 1 mining source.) If you do not send B2 to the Jupiter battle, it should take a red/mining planet/moon.

Re: Game 9: SA

I'll have to make a rule note that a ship entering ongoing battle can't be damaged the turn it enters.

Turn 2:

Kaunisto: Mars Moon

K1 LLL D4
K2 Venus

CP/MP: 2/1

Bec: Callisto

B1 UUR D4
B2 Jupiter

CP/MP: 2/0

Jupiter:
8emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
7emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
6emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
5emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
4emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
3emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
2emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
1emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
---A-----B-----C-----D-----E-----F-----G-----H

no hits (because B2 only now entered area)

1 K1
2 B1
3 B2

Now you'll just have to fight till K1 is destroyed...

I'll have to reconsider amount of CP/MP needed for building ships because I'm now likely to get new ships before you kill K1. The 5/5 may put too much emphasis on taking planets/moons... maybe 7/8 based on the amount of green/red places.

Not sure if I still move or just shoot... so for now I'll just move B1 Up, Left, Lef and shoot at E6. B2 will remain in position and shoot at B7.

Don't stay put too often or I'll start to expect it...

Turn 3:

Kaunisto: Mars Venus Moon

K1 DDD D1
K2 Earth

CP/MP: 4/2

Bec: Callisto

B1 ULL E6
B2 B7

CP/MP: 3/0

Jupiter:
8emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
7emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
6emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
5emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
4emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
3emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
2emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
1emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon
---A-----B-----C-----D-----E-----F-----G-----H

K1 hits B2 1 point of damage

1 K1
2 B1
3 B2 1 damage

I noticed a mistake I did starting this game. The 5 damage to kill ship was designed on the three ship type system, should've made it 3 for this. But since we started with those rules, we'll just play on the first game like this. (Same for the CP/MP needed to make ships.)
