NA Game 1
To get things going, I'm starting the first game here. This will be Naval Arena with Simple rules. Up to default 10 points of damage
Game starts once I have two or more volunteers (or in about week or two if there's only one... or later if it takes longer to get even that one).
I am playing myself.
To join, create a topic on whatever reasonably clear title that you can use on this and future games (like "Kaunisto's GA/WWA/NA moves").
As the "turn zero" (=game starting) move, choose the starting position of your 3-square ship.
For example: B4-6 or B-D5 (since we're using chess board it's letter before number like chess, but that doesn't actually matter...)
Note: Ship can't be along the edges of board, on rows 1, 8, A or H (because it could not turn/get away from there). But you can choose to start touching one end to edge, like A-C5 or G6-8.
Here's the (empty) board for reference:
8
7
6
5
4
3
2
1
---A-----B-----C-----D-----E-----F-----G-----H

Re: NA Game 1
(Note: I meant you wouldn't make a separate topic for this game - see the "BUT" in my chat post - but since you did, keep using it to get feel how this would be played with more players.)
Turn 0
8
7
6
5
4
3
2
1
---A-----B-----C-----D-----E-----F-----G-----H
1/4 Kaunisto
2 Simelius
3/4 Justbec
(so we're almost at same place; great minds...
I'll be marking with 4s and 5s squares that have several ships simultaneously.)
Now post the three moves. Remember you can only go U(p) or D(own) unless you T(urn) first.
And choose the square you're shooting. Players do not harm themselves, so you can aim the squares you are (moving to) if you think that's where I'm going too.

Re: NA Game 1
No. Not at all.
The choosing of 3 squares is only for starting the game (choosing where you start). Rest of the game you move your ship up, down, left or right or turn.
You can only move "forward" and "backward" in direction of your ship.
Now you're vertical, so you can only move up or down before turning.
You have 3 "steps" per a turn (I just realized the complication with "a turn" and "to turn"), one being to move a square or turning between vertical and horizontal position.
Oh wait, I just realized (perhaps?) what you did. But no that doesn't match... that's one step too much.
Anyways, you're supposed to tell me your moves - like DDT = down-down-turn that would put you D-F3 - instead the squares you move to.
To keep game going, I'll interpret your move to the closest possible: Down-Turn-Left puts you to C-E4
And about that shot... Neither of us couldn't have been in C7. In theory you could've at best scratched me with 1 point hit.
Turn 1
Kaunisto: TLL F6
Simelius: LT E2
Justbec: DTL C7
Kaunisto hit Simelius 1 point of damage
8
7
6
5
4
3
2
1
---A-----B-----C-----D-----E-----F-----G-----H
1/4 Kaunisto
2 Simelius (1 damage)
3/4 Justbec

Re:
Ok I get the moving part but what I don't get is, if I know where you are sitting then what is the challenge in shooting?

Re: NA Game 1
You need to guess where I'm moving to next turn. Shooting happens after moving. Everyone takes the 3 "steps" before the shots are counted.
(This is the general idea in all these games: you need to guess where opponent moves and attack there - and try to move where you're not expected to, to avoid getting hit)

Re: NA Game 1
Now here's the point you haven't understood: everyone's turns happen simultaneously.
In real life you could play this by each player writing down their moves and then they are revealed, seen where everyone moved and shot.
So, we're waiting for your move and shot for Turn 2...
